PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SupplyFrame has introduced the industry's first index to measure on-line demand by engineers for technical information on electronic components.
The SupplyFrame Index (SFI) measures the worldwide on-line demand for product information and was created in response to requests by suppliers to better understand on-line activity of engineers across the globe. The SFI summarizes activity for component manufacturers by ranking the Top 20. The Q1 2008 SFI is available at http://content.supplyframe.com/SFI20.html.
"Engineers research the vast majority of their designs on-line," said Steve Flagg, CEO of SupplyFrame. "Their heavy on-line use coupled with the availability of information from search engines like Google allows us to see into overall activity."
"At the request of our suppliers, we developed the SFI, which factors search and download activity collected across the major search engines on millions of components," said Jeff Curie, VP of Marketing at SupplyFrame. "Marketers must understand demand for product information to create successful marketing campaigns. It's absolutely eye-opening to understand what's happening at the engineer's desktop."
